How to Save Filters
As a land investor, you likely apply the same filters over and over, whether it’s out-of-county owners, road frontage, or acreage ranges.
The Saved Filters feature on Land Portal helps you streamline this process by letting you save your exact search criteria and reapply them instantly.
It saves time, minimizes errors, and lets you stay consistent across markets. You can even switch counties or states without losing your filter setup.
In the guide below, we’ll walk you through how to create, save, and reuse filters to make your land investing workflow faster and more efficient!
Step 1: Select a State and County
To get started, log into Land Portal.
Select the State and County you want to target.
In this example, we’re using:
State: Ohio
County: Ashtabula
Step 2: Turn On the Vacant Lots Filter
Navigate to the Vacant Lots filter in the Filtered Search box and activate it.
Step 3: Apply Your Filters
Scroll through the Filtered Search box and select additional filters to further define your search.
Example filters:
Acreage: 2 to 20 acres
Out-of-County Owner: Yes
Land Use:
- Is not Farmland
- Is not Poultry Farm
- Is not Dairy Farm
Road Frontage: Minimum 100 feet
Wetlands: Less than 50%
Exclude Keywords: loc, corp, department (in property description or owner fields)
Step 4: (Optional) Open Advanced Filters
Click on Advanced Filters to add even more detail such as:
- Mortgage information
- Sale price
- Assessed value
- Financing type
- Delinquency status
Choose what fits your needs, then hit Apply again.
Step 5: Save Your Filter
Scroll to the bottom where your active filters are listed (e.g., "10 applied filters").
Click the Save Filter button, give your filter a name (e.g., Land Investing Filters), and click Save.
Step 6: Reload and Use Your Saved Filter
Refresh your page
Go to Filtered Search
Select your saved filter (Land Investing Filters)
Click Apply
The system will automatically re-load all your previous settings.
Step 7: Change Location While Keeping Filters
You can switch to a different:
State (e.g., New York)
County (e.g., Allegany)
The filters will stay intact—only the location will change.
Note: Each saved filter is linked to a starting State and County, but you can still switch to a new location manually and reuse your saved filter.
Utilizing Saved Filters isn't just about convenience, it's about building a system that allows you to move faster, stay organized, and scale smarter.
Whether you're filtering for specific land types, excluding unwanted properties, or jumping between markets, this feature ensures your deal flow remains uninterrupted and efficient.
